    Ako salt

The town of Ako was once known as "salt country." Its history goes back to Japan's Yayoi period. The production volume of Ako salt, made through a manufacturing method passed down from ancient times, still accounts for about 20% of domestic production. We manufacture Banshu noodles using Ako salt that fully draws out the taste of the components of salt, the most familiar seasoning and a substance indispensable to life.
  • The clear Ibo River

One of the five rivers of Harima, the long Ibo River extends about 70 km. The Ibo River is home to many sweetfish and is known for its water quality. A number of local industries have developed in the surrounding area. Among them, the hand-stretched somen noodles represented by Ibonoito boast high recognition and are well known in Japan and overseas.
